Jean Alexander, Education
Jean Alexander holds a J.D. and is a practicing tax attorney in San Francisco. In the future, after she retires, Alexander wants to travel and form meaningful relationships with the people she meets. Teaching provides that opportunity.
"Wherever you go in the world, people recognize the University of California, Berkeley, and know that you received a quality education," she says. "If you really want to get a serious job, you need to show that you have what it takes to do the job." The flexibility of the Certificate Program in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)—from working in a company to tutoring individual students—provides Alexander with the means to accomplish her goals.
