Figure Painting
X437 (2 semester units in Art)
Investigate both perceptual and conceptual approaches to painting the figure. Using oil or acrylic paints, you learn methods of painting the figure using dynamic two-dimensional composition, color, and expressive techniques. Intensive weekly painting sessions working with a model are augmented with slide-illustrated lectures, demonstrations, readings, and critiques.
Prerequisite: Painting Fundamentals X410 or consent of instructor.

CHRISTIAN PIERRE FAGERLUND, M.F.A., has taught painting and drawing at the UFT Center in New York. His work has been included in exhibitions in New York, California and the French West Indies, and he is represented by 5+5 Gallery in New York.
