Introduction to Biostatistics

X471 (3 semester units in Molecular and Cell Biology)

The health and behavioral sciences commonly use several statistical methods (linear regression, ANOVA, logistical regression, survival analysis, and nonparametric methods) to study biological problems. Gain the statistical skills to read scientific articles in your fields, understand the statistical methods used, and interpret the results on your own. You learn to use computers and software for statistical analysis. This course is designed for upper-division undergraduate students, pre-medical students, and professionals who are interested in biostatistics.

Prerequisites: Basic mathematics course and computer literacy.
