Beginning Photography
X1 (2 semester units in Architecture)
Learn basic traditional photographic techniques—exposure, development, printing—as well as the history and aesthetics of photographic vision. Lectures emphasize black-and-white photography, and chemical darkroom work is required. Sessions include lectures, class critiques, and darkroom demonstrations.
Note: Bring a 35mm single-lens reflex camera with manual controls and a built-in exposure meter or handheld meter and ISO 400 black-and-white film to the first meeting.
