Critique Seminar

X495 (2 semester units in Art)

A requirement in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Visual Arts

Present original artwork to a group of your peers and receive in-depth responses regarding issues of meaning and content, as well as technical and formal resolution. The instructor provides useful information on documentation and feedback on the development of your portfolio of artwork. Weekly seminar discussions explore relevant topics in visual art and culture and provide you with an opportunity to develop your vocabulary and skills of critical awareness. Note: Please bring your original artwork to the first meeting.

Prerequisite: Visual Dynamics X401 or consent of instructor.

She is co-editor and one of the founders of the art and culture Web journal Stretcher (www.stretcher.org); runs the Meridian Interns Program, an innovative art education program for at-risk youth; and exhibits her hybrid brand of feminist pop art both nationally and internationally.
