Continuing Care and Case Coordination in Chemical Dependency

A requirement in the Certificate Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse StudiesThis course provides an overview of continuing care, case coordination principles, and the practices used to establish and maintain recovery and prevent relapse. The purpose of the course is to expose participants to different ways of thinking about the recovery and potential relapse process for chemically dependent clients, and to identify effective treatment and case coordination approaches for these clients. Topics aim to serve a diverse population.

PAUL BELL-TULL, LCSW, is a clinical social worker in the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco. He also served as a counselor and director at Sequoia Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center in Redwood City, and in other treatment settings, for more than 20 years.
