Watercolor Fundamentals
X414 (2 semester units in Art)
This thorough exploration of watercolor painting is suitable for both beginners and more experienced students. It offers you instruction and opportunities for practice in basic wet and dry techniques, washes, blends, and the use of transparency, and presents a variety of special techniques for solving texture and masking problems. Experienced students concentrate on composition, technical skills, paint consistency, and color development.

GLENN HIRSCH, M.F.A., also teaches as adjunct faculty at JFK University's M.F.A. program, is an instructor in the San Francisco Art Institute's Community Education Program, and serves as an adviser/mentor for the Art Institute of Boston's M.F.A. program. He has exhibited widely in the United States for 20 years, including a retrospective of his work at Stanford Art Spaces, three recent solo shows in California, and a 2008 solo show at the California Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco.
