Understanding Wealth Management

A requirement in the Professional Sequence in Wealth ManagementThis course addresses the challenges and opportunities faced by high-net-worth investors. It reviews the development of the wealth management industry, including the evolution of the high-net-worth investor segment. Students develop an understanding of specific wealth management needs and explore alternative approaches to asset management, understand benchmarks for evaluating both portfolio and advisor performance, and recognize the tax and estate planning issues that need to be addressed by an effective wealth management plan.
Upon completion of this course, you can expect to:
- Identify goals, objectives, and issues specific to high-net-worth investors
- Know leading investment terminology and theories and how to apply them
- Create wealth management plans and investment policy statements
- Understand investment manager selection and performance evaluation
- Recognize the roles and responsibilities of tax, legal, investment, and other advisors
