Working with Fabrics

This class focuses on making two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art using fabrics and other "soft" materials. You encounter a wealth of materials and methods. We discuss art historical precedents, as well as current artists who employ these means. We conduct individual and group critiques.

AMY BERK, M.F.A., is an artist, writer, and educator. She is co-editor and one of the founders of the art and culture Web journal Stretcher (www.stretcher.org); runs the Meridian Interns Program, an innovative art education program for at-risk youth; and exhibits her hybrid brand of feminist pop art both nationally and internationally.NOTE: This class is closed.
