Travel Writing Weekend Workshop
This workshop takes you through the process of writing a travel article, from selecting the right angle for your story to organizing your research materials, selecting the major points to include, and structuring the article. The workshop includes timed writing exercises so that you can actually build the story in class. At the end of the second day, you have a complete draft article; after polishing it can be sent to a publication. Bring notes, photos, brochures, flyers, tourist publications, guidebooks, maps, and other materials that relate to the trip or location you wish to write about. The location does not need to be exotic; it can be close to home.
