Facilities Construction and Project Management
X420.2 (2 semester units in Architecture)
A requirement in the Professional Sequence in Facilities ManagementExamine the function of the project manager and gain an understanding of the planning, scheduling, administration, and control of all aspects of facilities construction. Guest speakers include representatives from Bay Area contracting, architectural, and project management firms. Field trips visit a local project during critical stages of construction, allowing you to track and evaluate the project management skills being used. This course is recommended for new and experienced project managers from both design and construction backgrounds.

ROBERT V. TEED, CFM, LEED AP, is a graduate of UC Berkeley Extension's Facilities Management program and of St Mary's College in Moraga. He has 20 years of experience in facilities management and corporate real estate, serving in both outsourced in-sourced capacities. Teed holds designations as a Certified Facility Manager and a LEED Accredited Professional, and is licensed real estate broker in California. He is currently the senior director of Global Facilities at Symantec and has held this post since 2007.NOTE: This class is closed.
