General Biology Laboratory II

X15.1B (2 semester units in Integrative Biology)

(formerly General Biology Laboratory-B)

This laboratory introduces fundamental concepts in biology, including prokaryotes; protists; fungi and plant development; form and function; population genetics; ecology; conservation; the origin of life; evolution; and classification. The class is designed for biology majors, pre-medical, and pre-health students. In addition, it is appropriate for returning students interested in a "refresher" biology class, and professionals in other disciplines considering a career change to the biological sciences. Emphasis is given to the development of laboratory skills such as instrumentation, data analysis and observational skills. This course is associated with General Biology II X15B.

Prerequisite: General Biology II X15B must be completed with a C or better or taken concurrently.
