General Biology Laboratory I

X15.1A (2 semester units in Molecular and Cell Biology)

(formerly General Biology Laboratory-A)

This laboratory course introduces fundamental concepts in biology, including cell structure and function; metabolism; molecular and organismal genetics; classification; and animal development, form, and function. The class is designed for biology majors, pre-medical, and pre-health students. In addition, it is appropriate for returning students interested in a "refresher" biology class, and professionals in other disciplines considering a career change to the biological sciences. Emphasis is given to the development of laboratory skills such as instrumentation, data analysis, and observational skills. This course is associated with General Biology I X15A.

Prerequisite: General Biology 1 X15A must be completed with a C or better or taken concurrently.
