Meets the requirement of training in child abuse and incest assessment, reporting, and treatment for licensure in California by the Board of Psychology or the Board of Behavioral SciencesLearn to place child abuse and neglect within its historical and cultural context, then proceed to a review of the requirements of California child-abuse reporting laws. You learn how to identify the signs of abuse and neglect—physical and behavioral indicators in the child, indicators in the parent, family dynamics and patterns of interaction, and environmental factors. You also learn guidelines for assessment and discuss the special challenges of interviewing children.
