3-D Graphics and Game Engines
X445 (2 semester units in EECS)
Understand the 3-D graphics engineering used to create videogames, animated films, and other business applications such as on wireless devices, computer-aided design, and data visualization. You learn the 3-D graphics pipeline, from reading an artist's 3-D file to producing an image on the screen. You also study the algorithms and structure of 3-D graphics and game engines including: rotation and position of objects in 3-D space; camera controls including perspective and field-of-view; lighting and shading calculations; and animations and interactivity.
