In this course, students explore trademark law, copyright law, and patent law as it relates to a paralegal's role within intellectual property representation. By the end of the course, you gain quantifiable skills related to the paralegal profession in the area of intellectual property law to be able to function under an attorney's supervision. Specifically, you will:
- Learn terminology relevant to the area of intellectual property law and be able to identify the elements of trademark procedures, including infringement.
- Learn to identify the elements of copyright procedures, including infringement.
- Learn to identify the elements of patent application, ownership, transfer, and infringement.
