Community Design and Internship

X401.7 (2 semester units in Landscape Architecture)

Advanced students gain hands-on experience working on real projects for Bay Area communities in this nine-week internship course sponsored by Urban Ecology. You learn how urban planning, ecology, and public participation help design and build healthier cities, then spend one workday per week addressing all issues of this nonprofit as you work on different projects and learn the benefits and process of community design (one of the most hands-on, interactive, and integrated ways of working in the field of landscape architecture). You also attend weekly lectures to discuss and review your projects.
