General Chemistry Laboratory I

X19.1A (1 semester unit in Chemistry)

This course introduces fundamental concepts of inorganic chemistry, including matter; atoms; molecules; solutions; thermochemistry; chemical bonding; and intermolecular forces. It emphasizes the development of laboratory skills such as instrumentation, data analysis, and observation skills. It is designed for biology majors and pre-medical students. In addition, it is appropriate for returning students interested in chemistry, and professionals in other disciplines considering a career change to the sciences. It is associated with General Chemistry I (X19A).

Note: There is a $200 processing fee if you withdraw within seven days of the first class meeting.

Prerequisites: General Chemistry I (X19A) must be completed with a C or better or taken concurrently.
