Psychodiagnostic Assessment: Theory, Application, and Practicum

This course meets the requirements for pre-licensure additional coursework for MFTs who have not completed the required Psychological Testing coursework.Examine the elements of the clinical interview, including the principles and methods of intellectual, objective, and projective clinical adult and child/adolescent assessment. Gain exposure to the most widely used assessment tools measuring cognitive and socio-emotional functioning and personality, including WISC-IV, WAIS-III, CAS, DAS, WJ-R, BASC, CBCL, Rorschach, Roberts, TAT, CAT, H-T-P drawing, Person-in-the-Rain drawing, PAI, and MMPI. You learn how to administer, analyze, and interpret these assessment tools, as well as how to integrate your findings into accurate diagnoses and appropriate recommendations.

SMITH, Ph.D., serves as director of research and evaluation at Huckleberry Youth Programs in San Francisco while maintaining a private practice that specializes in assessment and complex trauma. Previously, Dr. Smith was a health science assistant clinical professor at UCSF/SFGH, working at the Child and Adolescent Support, Advocacy and Research Center (CASARC).NOTE: This class is closed.
