Studio L2: Project Planning and Design
X406 (4 semester units in Landscape Architecture)
A requirement in the Certificate Program in Landscape ArchitectureParticipants begin to apply previously acquired knowledge to site planning and design exercises. The focus is on discovering design solutions at the preliminary design phase. Classes deal with circulation systems, basic design, functional analyses, inventory, site analyses, and design methods and strategies. Graphic and verbal communication skills are further developed.
Note: At the first class meeting, students must submit five work samples up to 11" x 17" demonstrating adequate drafting skills to the instructor.
Prerequisites: Completion of all courses leading up to and including Planting Design X401. Highly recommended: Social Factors in Environmental Design X402.
