An elective in the Professional Certificate in Construction ManagementBuilding Information Modeling (BIM) is the state-of-the-art approach to design and construction of facilities using object based 3-D models. Students will learn the basics of how to employ BIM technologies for multiple analytical purposes such as visualization, quantity take-off, cost estimating, scheduling, coordination, and facility management. BIM is the most significant development in the construction industry in recent times. Students will be taught the BIM process and technologies, and how they are revolutionizing the design and construction industry.

ATUL KHANZODE, M.S., is director of virtual building at DPR Construction, Inc. He helps project teams implement lean construction principles and virtual design and construction methods at DPR.
