Current Issues in Design
X414.4 (2 semester units in Architecture)
A requirement in the Certificate Program in Interior Design and Interior ArchitectureLearn about the latest sustainable design issues and techniques in this course, including green design, ergonomics, effects of behavioral patterns, and cultural differences regarding the perception and utilization of space in relation to the built environment. You also examine specific design strategies such as universal design, which incorporates equitable and flexible access and use into the design process.
Prerequisite: Studio I: Conceptual Design, Residential and Commercial X408.1 or consent of instructor.

She is past president of the Northern California Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and currently works for Hawley Peterson & Snyder Architects.NOTE: This class is closed.
