Investment Portfolio Management
X431.2 (2 semester units in Business Administration)
This course offers an overview of investment management. Topics include modern portfolio theory, fundamental and technical analysis of equities, concentrated equity positions, fixed income analysis, benchmarking, capital markets, the appropriate use of mutual funds, the importance of asset allocation, tax-efficient portfolio design, IRAs, and 401(k)s. Attention is given to interest rates, inflation, the policies of the Federal Reserve, and general economic policy as it pertains to these topics.
Prerequisite: Basic Corporate Finance X430.1 or equivalent.
