Post-Baccalaureate Mentorship
X495.5 (1 semester unit in Art)
Students in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Visual Arts are expected to maintain an independent art practice outside the classroom with the goal of developing a cohesive body of work that demonstrates both a personal approach to the process of artmaking and skill level appropriate for potential application to graduate programs, as well as the ability to discuss their conceptual intent and artworks in formal, philosophical, and historical terms. The mentorship helps you meet these goals through individual guidance and evaluation from an approved program instructor.
Monthly meetings with an approved instructor of your choice provide the opportunity for ongoing evaluation of your artistic growth and dialog on issues of meaning and content, technique, and formal resolution in your artwork.
This course is open only to students enrolled in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Visual Arts and may be repeated for credit. Please contact the program office for information regarding available instructors and course enrollment.
