Sustainable Sculpture
X421.5 (2 semester units in Art)
Learn to mix sculpture and sustainability to create new forms of individual expression that address the current challenges presented by climate change and economic shift. The instructor discusses resources for sustainable materials and demonstrates a variety of methods and techniques including armature building, basic metal fabrication, stone carving, installation, mixed media and assemblage. Illustrated lectures and course assignments focused on sustainability and contemporary sculpture inspire your work—individually or in groups—on projects using local, sustainable materials.

SUZANNE BIAGGI, M.A., is a site-specific sculptor who has taught at San Francisco State University and the College of Marin. Her work has been exhibited regionally, including at the Oakland Art Museum and the Southern Exposure Gallery, Los Angeles, and internationally.NOTE: This class is closed.
