Trauma and Grief: Impacts on Clients and the Clinician

(0.7 ceu)

6 hours of CE credit: BRN, LCSW/MFT, and psychologists

An elective in the Professional Program of Loss and Grief

Learn approaches to the treatment of childhood abuse and trauma and study the impact on those who work regularly with clients dealing with intense pain, grief, and loss. You review the stages of treatment that adult survivors of past abuse and trauma experience. You also examine how to identify these symptoms in yourself and develop strategies for self care to prevent secondary traumatization that can lead to burnout, compassion fatigue, or just plain exhaustion. This workshop uses video and small group exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring in case material.
