Attic Greek I
X13 (3 semester units in Classics)
Get an introduction to Attic Greek, the language of Thucydides, Plato, and the Greek tragedians. Your study of grammar, syntax, and vocabulary will help you appreciate not only the unique and influential work of the Greeks but also the universal way humans think and communicate. By the end of the semester you will be able to read simple Greek sentences and understand the complexities involved in interpretation of Greek grammar and lexic. Class work is based on the problem-solving approach and done in groups under the supervision of the instructor.
