This in-depth and rigorous course helps you understand the new forces shaping the world, including new transportation and communications systems, international trade, investment and immigration, and regional and global politics.

ROBERT ACKER, Ph.D., received his master's degree in Southeast Asian Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, and his doctorate in geography at UC Berkeley. He has traveled in India, Southeast Asia and China. He has taught the course on globalization at UC Berkeley and for its Fall Program for Freshman.NOTE: This class is closed.
