PRINCE2 Project Management Foundation

X435.4 (2 semester units in EECS)

Get an introduction to proven PRINCE2 methodologies, including project start-up, control of a project stage, management of stage boundaries, project scheduling, managing product delivery, and final project completion. You then construct the business case, build organizations, establish various project plans, set up project controls, manage critical components such as project configuration, quality, change control and risks. You also learn successful PRINCE2 project and team management principles and practices. Students who successfully complete the course will be well prepared to take the PRINCE2 foundation test.

Course topics include start-up and initiation of a project, directing a project, controlling a stage, managing product delivery and stage boundaries, choosing a project and planning, PRINCE2 components such as business cases, plans, and controls, PRINCE2 techniques such as product based planning, configuration management, and change control. You are expected to actively participate in the group discussions intended to help reinforce the key concepts. Homework is assigned to help you review and understand the PRINCE2 project management method.
