CEQA Overview for Architects and Engineers

Get a basic understanding of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and its effect on each type of development projects in this course, which is specifically designed for architects and engineers. CEQA compliance is a critical step and can have significant impact on overall development process, affecting changes in project scope, magnitude, design strategies, and cost. Learn key requirements and impact of CEQA on design implementation. Acquire knowledge to make optimal design decisions and vocabulary to communicate with attorneys, planners and stakeholders.

AMY SKEWES-COX, AICP, has nearly 30 years of experience working with CEQA for new towns, infrastructure, schools, and residential/commercial developments. She began her own consulting business in 1999. Skewes-Cox has a bachelor's degree from UC Berkeley and a master's degree in landscape architecture/environmental planning, UC Berkeley.
