Principles of Green Chemistry
X413 (2 semester units in Chemistry)
Learn the core principles of green chemistry and connect your
knowledge of green chemistry to your own experiences through
real-world examples and projects. Challenges to the health of
the environment abound, including pollution, climate change
and the over-use of natural resources. Chemistry, the study of
matter and how it changes, can greatly influence human health
and the health of the environment. Green chemistry unleashes
the creativity of scientists and engineers in designing and
discovering the next generation of chemicals and materials so
that they provide increased performance while protecting and
enhancing human health and the environment.
