Technical Communication I
X465 (2 semester units in Journalism)
A requirement in the Professional Sequence in Technical CommunicationLearn the requirements for designing and developing technical
documentation from start to finish. As you develop your class
project, you practice how to define your audience and purpose,
determine appropriate document format and style, improve the
clarity and organization of your writing, and review and edit
your work more effectively. You also learn about teamwork, oral
communication, and presentation skills that can increase your
success in the technical communication field.
Prerequisites: Basic computer literacy, word processing skills, and good writing skills, including knowledge of correct grammar, usage, and punctuation. Students who need a grammar review should take Practical Grammar for Editors X445 before enrolling in this course.

Her clients have included Adobe Systems, Apple Computer, Avid Technology, Broderbund, FrameMaker, Global Village, Symantec, and Sun Microsystems.
