Introductory Biology with Lab

X19 (4 semester units in Molecular and Cell Biology)

By conducting "home wet lab" biology experiments and exercises to supplement other course assignments, you gain a solid foundation in the fundamental concepts in cellular, molecular, and developmental biology that are typically covered in a one-semester, lower-division college course.

Prerequisite: Familiarity with basic chemistry is recommended but not required.

MONICA RANES-GOLDBERG, Ph.D., has taught biology and microbial genetics at Harvard University, where she received a certificate of distinction in teaching. She pursued postdoctoral studies at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, where she developed vaccines for infectious diseases.
