Fulfills the Special Education or "Mainstreaming" requirement for California teaching credentialsDevelop teaching and management skills that facilitate learning by students with special needs in the mainstreamed classroom. Learn about topics such as special education history, legislation, programs, services, and trends; the terminology and characteristics of disabling conditions; and strategies for modifying the regular education program.
This course may be used to fulfill the mainstreaming requirement for the Ryan Multiple and/or Single Subject Credentials on direct application to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

NINA GHISELLI, Psy.D., is the system-wide director of disability services and adjunct faculty at Alliant International University and a psychologist in private practice. She also teaches courses at UC Berkeley Extension and Argosy University and consults with schools and agencies on how to make their programs more accessible to people with disabilities.
