A requirement in the Certificate Program in Interior Design and Interior ArchitectureIn this course, you practice and gain experience developing programs that satisfy your clients' needs and make the best use of space. You learn techniques for assimilating client project information, analyzing program requirements, and developing schematic space-planning solutions to both residential and commercial situations. Building codes, fire safety, and barrier-free designs are an essential part of this course
Prerequisite: Drafting X412.2 and AutoCAD Design Studio X437.

JERRY VAN SLAMBROUCK, B.S., CID, has been a designer and project manager with several San Francisco architectural firms. As an associate at Gensler, he was the senior designer for the Oral-B Laboratories, BD Biosciences and Apple Computer projects. He provides consulting services to commercial and residential clients and has taught at many Bay Area colleges.
