Introductory Organic Chemistry
X18 (3 semester units in Chemistry)
Examine the compounds that comprise most of the mass in living things. Following an introduction to covalent bonding and isomerism, you move into a detailed discussion of the molecular structures and properties of various classes of organic and other biologically important compounds.
Prerequisites: A course in introductory chemistry and knowledge of basic algebra.

WEIWEI GU, Ph.D., obtained her doctoral degree in biophysics from UC Davis in 2003. She has held research positions in Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and UCSF. She is a reviewer for ACS journals Nano Letts and Analytic Chemistry. She now devotes her professional efforts to teaching.NOTE: This section is temporarily closed.
