Critical incident stress management (CISM) is a psycho-educational intervention approach designed to help people cope with their normal reactions after experiencing abnormal events. Critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) is a major component of CISM, and is designed to assist groups of people who experience critical incidents. CISD assists people with acute stress reactions and can accelerate the normal recovery process. Get basic training if you are interested in providing crisis intervention and CISD, or in developing a CISM team.
