Family Recovery in Chemical Dependency

A requirement in the Certificate Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse StudiesReview assessment, intervention, and treatment in chemically dependent families using a developmental model of recovery. Topics include needs, concerns, and resistances of individual members and the family as a whole; the dynamics of codependency; a comparison of approaches to family recovery; treatment techniques appropriate to the different phases of family recovery; and strategies to help prevent family relapse.
