This course introduces you to major philosophical concerns and concepts in Western thought, beginning with early texts in which philosophy first becomes distinguishable from myth and concluding with the philosophical debates of medieval Christianity. You explore philosophical questions relating to politics, metaphysics, natural science, logic, ethics, and aesthetics. The philosophers covered include Plato, Aristotle, St. Augustine, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
