Summer Plants and Applications
X445 (3 semester units in Landscape Architecture)
A requirement in the Certificate Program in Landscape ArchitectureGet an introduction to approximately 125 species of trees, shrubs, and ground covers in this field-trip course. You examine in detail visual characteristics, nomenclature, nurturing requirements, and design application for these species. You learn to recognize the plants in several stages of maturity and to develop a plant palette to prepare basic planting plans. Wear walking shoes. Site locations vary weekly.
