Pen and Ink Drawing
X432 (2 semester units in Art)
Explore both traditional and innovative approaches to line drawing with pen and ink. Demonstrations introduce the different types of pens, papers, and inks. Course projects cover a full repertoire of line-making techniques, including gesture, contour, hatching, stippling, developed lines, and free-style lines, as well as the use of ink washes for grounds and shading.
Note: Bring black felt-tip, gel, or Rollerball drawing pens and a 9" x 12" sketchbook to the first class.
Prerequisite: Drawing Fundamentals X405 or consent of instructor.

PAMELA LANZA, M.F.A., has taught at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, the San Francisco School of Art, ASUC Berkeley Art Studio, and San Francisco Art Institute Extension. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and universities nationwide.
