A requirement in the Professional Program in the Treatment of Mood Disorders

Mood disorders are the most prevalent psychiatric disorders, accounting for 25 percent of patients in public mental institutions, 65 percent of psychiatric outpatients, and as much as 10 percent of all patients seen in non-psychiatric medical settings. This workshop provides an overview of the epidemiology of major depression and bipolar disorders, as well as a summary of some of the major assessment tools and best practice guidelines. It is intended to help clinicians stay current in treatment modalities.
