An elective in the Professional Program in Neuropsychological AssessmentThis course is designed for mental health professionals who are interested in the neuropsychological and psychological evaluation of criminal offenders. Data from a research project conducted within a prison psychiatric treatment program are described and applied to the clinical evaluation of criminal offenders. Topics include the demographics of prison inmates, developmental factors, violence and drug use, neuropsychological functioning, Rorschach evaluation, risk factors for violence in the community and in prison, and ways in which sexual offenders differ from non-sexual offenders.
