Learn how to identify the difference between normal aging and some of the medical or psychiatric illnesses commonly associate with aging. Geriatric mental health focuses on the medical, psychological, and social concerns that older adults, their families, and their caregivers face. The most common psychiatric disorders associated with aging are anxiety, depression, memory loss, delirium, dementia, delusions, hallucinations, and behavioral problems. Gain familiarity with useful diagnostic tools, and learn some of the major approaches to working with older adults.
