A requirement in the Professional Program in the Treatment of Anxiety DisordersOnce believed to be a rare psychiatric illness, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is now considered to be the fourth most common form of mental illness. Although it is not as well known as OCD, body dysmorphic disorder is considered to be one of the obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, with its distinguishing feature being obsessions pertaining to physical appearance. The primary purpose of this workshop is to familiarize you with the two diagnoses, to review cognitive and behavioral manifestations of each, and to thoroughly explore forms of treatment.
