3-D Graphics and Game Engines

Understand the 3-D graphics engineering used to create video games; animated films; and other business applications such as those on wireless devices, computer-aided design, and data visualization. You learn the 3-D graphics pipeline, from reading an artist's 3-D file to producing an image on the screen. You also study the algorithms and structure of 3-D graphics and game engines including rotation and position of objects in 3-D space, camera controls including perspective and field-of-view, lighting and shading calculations, and animations and interactivity.
Future-Term Courses and Enrollments
Courses are offered three terms per year: spring, summer, fall. Information about upcoming courses is available when enrollment opens each term.
- Spring term: Enrollment opens in early December. Classes begin in January.
- Summer term: Enrollment opens in early April. Classes begin in late May.
- Fall term: Enrollment opens in early July. Classes begin in August.
