Studio L2: Project Planning and Design

X406 (4 semester units in Landscape Architecture)
A requirement in the Certificate Program in Landscape ArchitectureBegin to apply previously acquired knowledge to site-planning and design exercises. Focus on discovering design solutions at the preliminary design phase. Classes deal with circulation systems, basic design, functional analyses, inventory, site analyses, and design methods and strategies. Graphic and verbal communication skills are further developed.
Note: At the first class meeting, you must submit five work samples up to 11x17 inches demonstrating adequate drafting skills to the instructor.
Prerequisites: Completion of all courses in the
Certificate Program in Landscape Architecture leading up to and including
Planting Design X401. Highly recommended:
Social Factors in Environmental Design X402.
Future-Term Courses and Enrollments
Courses are offered three terms per year: spring, summer, fall. Information about upcoming courses is available when enrollment opens each term.
- Spring term: Enrollment opens in early December. Classes begin in January.
- Summer term: Enrollment opens in early April. Classes begin in late May.
- Fall term: Enrollment opens in early July. Classes begin in August.
