CTEL 3: Assessment of English Learners

A requirement in the CLAD Through CTEL program and in the Professional Program in English Learner Pedagogy; an elective in the Professional Program in Adult Education

Learn the principles and design of standards-based assessments and instruction for English-language learners and the relationship to identifying students’ strengths and needs in English language and literacy development and academic achievement.

Note: Because the foundation for CTEL 3: Assessment of English Learners is provided in CTEL 4: Foundations and Methods of English Language/Literacy Development and Content Instruction, you should take CTEL 4 before taking CTEL 3.

Future-Term Courses and Enrollments

Courses are offered three terms per year: spring, summer, fall. Information about upcoming courses is available when enrollment opens each term.

Spring term: Enrollment opens in early December. Classes begin in January.
Summer term: Enrollment opens in early April. Classes begin in late May.
Fall term: Enrollment opens in early July. Classes begin in August.
