Dominic Lusinchi, Ph.D., is a partner and statistical consultant at Far West Research, a privately owned firm in San Francisco, specializing in statistical and quantitative research consulting. He has more than two decades of experience working in industry, academia, international organizations and government. He has used SPSS for nearly 20 years in his daily practice as a researcher and consultant. He is a member of the American Statistical Association, the American Association for Public Opinion Research, and the Southwestern Sociological Association.

Understand the basic workings of SPSS, and learn how to perform basic statistical analyses. Focus on database management tasks, descriptive statistics and graphics, and basic inferential statistics for comparisons and correlations.
Note: This is a hands-on class. You are required to have some version of SPSS but not necessarily the latest version. If you do not already have the software, you can download it at onthehub.com/spss. Select IBM SPSS Statistics standard/base GradPack for either Windows or Mac. You must provide proof that you have registered for the class. You are expected to have installed the software before the first class meeting. If you have a laptop, you should bring it to class to perform the tasks demonstrated by the instructor.
