A Core Course in the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Information Systems and ManagementSoftware testing has played a major role in identifying defects prior to shipping products for general use. But given the costly nature of testing, companies need qualified engineers who are both familiar with testing and trained in key life-cycle methodologies, testing principles and quality assurance techniques that can help prevent defects from the beginning. In this course, you focus mostly on the standard software quality-assurance methodologies practiced throughout the software industry, drawing a clear distinction between software quality assurance and software testing.
No programming background is required. Knowledge of system development life cycle and testing is helpful. Interest area should be to learn more about software quality assurance practices beyond testing.
